Daniel Thornton

Co Founder and Board Member

Daniel Thornton, Co Founder and Board Member for Dare to Care International, Daniel is a visionary who believes every goal can be an achievement and every dream can become a reality. He is a strategic thinker and master connector, working tirelessly to ensure everyone has a seat at the table of opportunity. An inspirational and respected leader in his community, Daniel motivates and encourages all who cross his path. His mantra is “Everyone can succeed, and there are no limits.” Dare 2 Care International was born out of the desire to expand its impact globally and provide opportunities for his brothers and sisters all over the world to thrive.

Alfonso Bowens

Co Founder and Board Member

Alfonso Bowens, Co-founder, and Board Member of Dare 2 Care International is an ordained Minister and has a heart for people and serving. Alfonso has a BA degree in History and Government from Bowie State University and an MBA in Human Resources Management from American Intercontinental University. He is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP). Alfonso loves to travel the globe and spread love, peace, and unity.

James Brown

Board Member

James Brown, Board Member of Dare 2 Care International is the Vice President of Operation at Suite Solutions, LLC. James has over 25 years of Operations & Customer Service-related experience, 18 years of which have been in the Corporate Housing industry. Prior to joining the Suite Solutions team, James worked in the Operations Department for NCRC; a Washington, D.C. based non-profit Development Corporation that specialized in affordable housing and community development.

Emmanuel Saint Fleur, Board Member of Dare 2 Care is a Certified Physician Assistant with over 25 years experience. He is passionate about serving and providing compassionate care to others and has a proven track record of providing patients smiles through his bedside manner. Emmanuel is an Air Force Veteran who served during Desert Shield. He has traveled the world over and has seen the needs that exist both at home and abroad and is committed to serving where the need arises. Emmanuel was Volunteer of the year in 2014 at his daughter’s school and has served as Coach for Little League Football Teams in the Southwest Orlando area. He is an avid runner, who has completed many races including the Chicago Marathon. He also believes that no one should be limited by their surroundings and that is the driving force behind his dedication to serve.

Johnda D. Scott is a native of Trenton, New Jersey and a graduate of Douglass College at Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ) and the George Washington University Law School (Washington, D.C.).

Johnda has been an active member of the Virginia Bar and practicing attorney for over 20 years. She committed early on to serving indigent criminal defendants through her employment with the Commonwealth of Virginia Office of the Public Defender, and later in private practice. Johnda is currently practicing law in Northern Virginia with The Alvarez Law Firm where she specializes in criminal defense, domestic relations and personal injury. She is also the Executive Advisor of the International Knowledge Exchange.

An avid writer, Johnda is an active blogger, running a daily blog reporting and giving commentary on current events, politics and pop culture, with a growing viewership of over 2500 readers. Johnda is co-author of “The Parenting Odyssey: Trials, Treasures and Triumphs of Parenting in a Pandemic,” an anthology written by fifteen parents around the world about their parenting experiences during the Covid-19 global pandemic. She is currently working on her second book. Johnda is also a sought-after public speaker on topics including child loss and recovery, organizations, the media, law and politics, and juvenile justice issues. Johnda also acts as an attorney/advisor regarding entertainment matters. She has podcast, “Let’s Be Honest with Just Johnda” which she has hosted and produced since 2020.

Johnda is active in the community, having served in various local, regional and national positions in Jack and Jill of America, Inc., including serving as President of the Manassas-Woodbridge, VA Chapter for three terms. She is a Lifetime Member of Girl Scouts of USA, a member of the Prince William County Democratic Committee, the NAACP, and a National Board Member of the Continental Societies, Inc. She previously served on the Executive Board of the Old Dominion Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Woodbridge Dance Company. She is a member of First Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she co-founded and has directed the Dance Ministry for over 20 years.
